The Sanctuary Bike Pavilion: Located in the heart of East Beach Village at The Sanctuary, at 1 Sanctuary Beach Drive. You’ll find our bike rental service under the distinctive green awning in the west-side parking lot. This location is perfect for guests staying at The Sanctuary or exploring East Beach Village.

Please note that tow carts are charged at the rate of an additional bike rental.

For children ready for a more independent ride but still needing to stay close, our tag-a-long attachment is ideal. Connecting to our 26” beach cruisers, the tag-a-long features an adjustable seat and accommodates children aged 4 to 10 years (48″ – 60″). Bicycle Safety Guidelines and Island Rules
To ensure a safe and enjoyable biking experience for everyone and to protect Kiawah Island’s natural environment, please adhere to the following guidelines and rules:
- Utilize Leisure Trails: For your safety and enjoyment, please use the designated leisure trails. Biking on streets where a parallel bike path exists is not permitted. Biking is prohibited on Kiawah Island Parkway, Governors Drive, and Ocean Course Drive.
- Designated Bike Parking: Island guests are required to park their bikes at designated bike racks. Guests renting private homes are asked to keep bikes out of view from the road when not in use.
- Observe Traffic Signals: Always observe all stop signs on leisure trails and streets to ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Single File Riding: Where bike paths are not available, please ride single file on the road to allow for vehicle traffic and enhance safety.
- Helmets Encouraged: While helmets are not mandatory, we strongly encourage their use, particularly for children. Complimentary helmets are available with your bike rental upon request.
- No Night Riding: For your personal safety and to protect Kiawah’s wildlife, there are no lighted bike trails. Please refrain from riding bikes after dark.
- Respect Wildlife: Help us protect Kiawah’s beach nesting and migrating birds by observing them from a distance. Please maintain a distance of at least 300 feet from groups of shorebirds and avoid biking through flocks of birds.
- Beach Boardwalks: Our beach is a wonderful place to bike. Please walk your bikes over boardwalks to and from the beach to protect them and maintain the boardwalks.
- Alligator Safety: All lakes and ponds on Kiawah Island are home to alligators. Do not wade, swim, or dangle your feet in any pond or lake. Always maintain a safe distance of at least 60 feet (approximately 4 car lengths) from alligators.
- Island Boundaries: Please note that our bike rentals are licensed for use on Kiawah Island only and are not permitted to be ridden on Seabrook Island or Johns Island.
