Hello everyone, I’m encountering a perplexing issue with two brand-new Ancheer ebikes and I’m hoping someone in the community might have some insights. Just last week, I excitedly received two electric mountain bikes from Ancheer, specifically the Sunshine and Blue Electric models, mirroring the ones my mom has been enjoying for months without issue. However, my experience has been far from smooth, and now I’m facing a situation where neither bike will power on.
The first sign of trouble appeared with the Sunshine model. Assembly was straightforward, and after a full 8-hour charge, I was eager for a test ride. The bike initially powered up, but my excitement was short-lived. Upon engaging the throttle, the motor briefly kicked in for about a second before abruptly cutting off completely. Since then, the bike has been unresponsive – no lights on the display, no throttle or pedal assist function. My initial thought was a faulty battery.
The following day, the Blue Electric arrived, offering a glimmer of hope. Assembly and charging went as expected, and to my relief, it seemed to be working perfectly. Noticing the batteries were identical across both models, I decided to do some battery swapping for troubleshooting. I tried the new battery from the Blue Electric on the Sunshine. It powered on! Unable to road test it immediately, I elevated the rear wheel and tested the throttle indoors. It seemed fine, leading me to believe the original Sunshine battery was indeed the culprit.
However, my optimism faded quickly. Later that day, taking the Sunshine for a proper test ride with the “good” battery, the exact same issue recurred. It powered on, but after a second of throttle engagement, it shut down completely and refused to power back on. Frustrated, I tested this “good” battery on the Blue Electric, and it worked flawlessly. At this point, I began suspecting a problem with the Sunshine bike itself, perhaps the motor or the display unit.
To further isolate the issue, the next day, after fully charging both batteries again, I decided to test the original “bad” battery on the Blue Electric. As anticipated, the Blue Electric wouldn’t power on with this battery, confirming the battery was indeed problematic. However, to my utter dismay, when I reinstalled the “good” battery back onto the Blue Electric, it also now refused to turn on!
Now, I am left with two completely non-functional ebikes. I’ve meticulously checked and reconnected all wiring connections on both bikes, ensuring they are secure and free from any visible damage or corrosion. Has anyone encountered a similar situation where seemingly unrelated issues compound like this? Could the problems with the Sunshine somehow have affected the Blue Electric?
I am in contact with the seller through Amazon, but communication is slow due to time zone differences. They’ve requested videos of the issues, which I’ve provided, and suggested the meter might be faulty on the Sunshine. I even considered borrowing my mom’s battery, but I’m hesitant to risk potentially damaging her working battery as well.
I’m at a loss and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice on diagnosing and resolving this perplexing “bike working” problem. What could be causing both of my new ebikes to suddenly become unresponsive after such a short period of use? Any troubleshooting steps or common failure points to investigate would be incredibly helpful.
Could a faulty controller be responsible for these symptoms across both bikes? Is there a way to test the controller or other components to pinpoint the root cause? Any guidance on systematic troubleshooting for ebikes that are not powering on would be invaluable as I try to get these bikes up and running.
