Back in 1975, as a 10-year-old with a newspaper route and a dream, Rich set his sights on a gleaming, all-chrome Kawasaki BX200 bicycle he spotted at Davis Cycle Sales, a local shop on Route 422. It took him three months of hard work, delivering newspapers and taking on extra jobs, to finally purchase that dream bike on lay-away.
This experience ignited a lifelong passion for all things with wheels for Rich. Over the years, he remained a loyal customer of his neighborhood cycle shop, purchasing motorcycles and parts. Then, in April, life came full circle when Rich made his most significant purchase yet – he bought the very dealership that sold him his first bike.
For Rich, owning the dealership is more than a business venture; it’s about sharing the joy and excitement he felt when he got his first set of wheels. “I’ll never forget the experience of purchasing my first bike,” Rich recalls. “And I look forward to helping other people buy their first bike as well.” This personal connection to the “first bike” experience is what inspired the name of the dealership: First Bike Motorsports.

While some might expect the owner’s name on the building, for Rich, it was about something more meaningful. “He wanted the name to pertain to one of his favorite childhood memories – the place where he used his own hard-earned money to purchase his first bike,” explains his wife, Tina.
Family is at the heart of First Bike Motorsports. In fact, Rich’s desire to create a family business was a driving force behind purchasing the dealership. While his passion for motorcycles is a lifelong hobby, he also saw this as an opportunity to build something lasting for his children. Rich and Tina own the dealership, and their sons, Justin and Brandon, are actively involved in the day-to-day operations. Justin manages the Parts and Service Department, while Brandon is in charge of Sales. Tina and their daughter, Chelsey, also play crucial roles behind the scenes.
