Renting a bike to cruise along the beach is a fantastic way to enjoy the scenery and get some exercise. At usabikers.net, we want to ensure your beachside biking experience is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. That’s why we offer comprehensive rental insurance to protect you from unexpected incidents. This document outlines what our insurance covers, so you can ride with confidence knowing you’re protected.
Comprehensive Damage Coverage for Beachside Bikes
Our rental insurance provides extensive coverage for mechanical damages to your rented equipment. Whether the damage is caused by yourself, another member of your group, another cyclist, a pedestrian, a vehicle (moving or stationary), an animal, or any obstacle you encounter on your beachside adventure, we’ve got you covered. This broad protection ensures that you can relax and enjoy your ride without constantly worrying about every little bump in the road or unexpected event.
Specifically, our insurance covers 100% of the cost of repairs for mechanical damages. This means you won’t be burdened with unexpected repair bills should something happen to your rental bike while you’re enjoying the beachside paths.
Frame Damage and Your Responsibility
It’s important to note that damages to the bike frame are not covered under our standard insurance policy. Frame damage often necessitates replacing the entire bicycle, which represents a significant cost. In the unfortunate event of frame damage to your rented beachside bike, you will be responsible for 50% of the total wholesale cost of the bike, plus any associated shipping or other related expenses. We encourage careful handling of our bikes to avoid such situations and ensure everyone can enjoy our quality beachside rentals.
E-bike Battery and Key Security
For those renting our popular e-bikes to effortlessly explore longer beachside routes, please be aware of specific terms related to the battery and keys. If you lose the battery key or the battery itself is stolen during your rental period, you will be responsible for the cost of a replacement battery, in addition to a non-refundable $50 service fee.
Battery prices can fluctuate, so the exact replacement cost will be calculated at the time of the incident. We will attempt to order a replacement key set from the manufacturer. If successful, we will refund the battery cost, minus the $50 service fee. However, if a new key set is unobtainable, the battery cost cannot be refunded as the existing battery would become unusable.
Electrical Component Responsibility on E-bikes
E-bikes are equipped with various electrical components that enhance your beachside ride. However, damage to or loss of any of these electrical components, including the motor, battery, pedal-assist sensor, displays, motor controller, headlight, charger, or any other electrical part, will result in a charge to the renter. You will be responsible for 50% of the total wholesale price of the damaged or lost component. If a wholesale price is unavailable, the retail price will be used to calculate your responsibility.
Non-Transferable Insurance Policy
Please remember that our rental insurance is non-transferable. If you rent multiple Beachside Bikes for a group, and only some are insured, the insurance applies only to the specific bikes covered under the policy. Insurance cannot be moved from one bike to another within your rental group. Each bike intended to be covered must have its own insurance policy purchased at the time of rental. You will be responsible for damages to any uninsured bikes.
Theft and Customer Responsibility
In the unfortunate event of theft of your rented beachside bike, each incident will be carefully assessed to determine the circumstances and responsibility. If the theft is a result of customer negligence – for example, failing to lock the bike in a secure, legal, and sensible location – you will be held responsible for 100% of the total wholesale (or retail if wholesale is unavailable) cost of the bike, plus any shipping and associated fees.
However, if theft occurs despite your responsible actions, such as properly locking the bike with provided locks which are then forcibly broken, you may be eligible for reduced liability. In such cases, you must provide substantial evidence to demonstrate that you took all reasonable precautions to secure the equipment. If sufficient evidence is provided, your responsibility will be limited to 50% of the total wholesale (or retail if wholesale is unavailable) cost, plus shipping and associated fees.
We encourage all renters to prioritize bike security to prevent theft and ensure a positive beachside biking experience for everyone.
Enjoy your beachside bike ride with peace of mind, knowing usabikers.net has you covered!
