When the quest for the perfect titanium gravel bike began, brands like FireFly and No 22 immediately came to mind, alongside approximately twenty others. However, my research ultimately led me to Moots. Their reputation for titanium bikes is unparalleled, and the fact that they are built in Colorado, my home state, offers a sense of long-term security and local pride. Furthermore, established Moots dealers, those with over a decade in business, instill confidence in their expertise and service, essential for custom bike builds.
Initially, Adrenaline Bikes caught my attention, particularly due to advertised discounts on components. Moots, while offering excellent package deals even at retail prices, prompted me to reconsider local bike shops (LBS) once more.
Ultimately, the decision regarding where to purchase came down to practicalities. Choosing an LBS in a location with a lower tax rate becomes a significant advantage when investing in a bike in the five-figure range. Pragmatism, in this case, outweighs all else.
Price shopping is undeniably a part of this process, much like buying a car. The assumption is that any shop specializing in custom builds for years is reputable. While I couldn’t physically visit Adrenaline Bikes, online feedback has been consistently positive. Despite this, the financial implications of local tax advantages make an LBS the most sensible choice in my current calculation.
Hopefully, this clarifies my decision-making process. I extend my sincere thanks to those who shared their experiences with Adrenaline Bikes – your input was valuable in my consideration.
