We rode each bike from full charge until battery depletion, recording ride data with a GPS-enabled cycling computer. For Class 2 models, we used throttle-only operation to eliminate rider input variability. For Class 1 models without throttle, we minimally pedaled to engage the cadence sensor, allowing the motor to do the work.
