Service Policies:
At Blue Line Bike Lab, we are dedicated to providing top-notch bicycle service to keep you riding smoothly in Houston. Please review our service policies below to understand how we operate and ensure we can best assist you with your bike maintenance needs.
- Our standard shop labor rate is $75 per hour. This rate applies to all services unless otherwise specified in our package deals.
- For all Tune-Up packages, there is a mandatory $4 shop supply charge added. This fee covers essential consumables used during the service process to ensure quality work.
- Tune-Up packages include labor as described in each package. Please note that parts are not included in the price of Tune-Up packages unless explicitly stated. Any required parts will be an additional cost. Furthermore, installing new parts or accessories may incur additional labor charges, depending on the complexity of the installation. We will always inform you of any extra costs before proceeding with the work.
- We understand that life can get busy, but we have limited space for bike storage. We kindly request that bikes be picked up promptly after service completion. Bikes left at our lab for more than 30 days after we notify you of completion will be subject to a storage fee of $6 per day. If a bike remains uncollected for over 30 days post-completion, we reserve the right to sell the bicycle to recover repair costs or donate it to a local charity. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking such actions.
- To maintain a clean and professional workspace, bikes that are excessively dirty or muddy upon arrival will be subject to a $25 cleaning fee. We appreciate your understanding in helping us keep our service environment optimal.
A Note Regarding E-bike Service at Blue Line Bike Lab:
Blue Line Bike Lab is passionate about keeping the Houston cycling community moving, and that includes e-bike riders! Our expertise lies in servicing the mechanical aspects of all bicycles, including electric bikes. We continually update our knowledge and skills to handle the mechanical complexities of modern bikes.
However, it is important to clarify that Blue Line Bike Lab does not service the electric drive systems or computer components of any brand of electric bicycle. Our service focus is strictly on the mechanical parts of e-bikes.
When you bring your e-bike in for service, we require that you remove the battery and take it with you before dropping off your bike. This is crucial for safety and service efficiency.
We have observed an increase in service requests for direct-to-consumer, budget-friendly e-bikes purchased online. We are happy to assess these bikes and do our best to provide service to get them running. However, please be aware that some of these e-bikes may utilize components that are not designed to industry standards and may have inherent functional limitations.
Blue Line Bike Lab prioritizes safety above all else. Therefore, we must reserve the right to refuse service on any bicycle or e-bike that we deem unsafe to work on or potentially unsafe for the rider after service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain the highest standards of safety and service quality at Blue Line Bike Lab.
