Discover the Crust Bikes Derecho: Anton Krupicka’s Signature All-Terrain Frameset

The Crust Bikes Derecho is more than just a frameset; it’s Anton Krupicka’s vision of the perfect all-terrain machine, meticulously crafted for riders who demand versatility and performance. This signature bike embodies the spirit of adventure, blending the best characteristics of Crust Bikes’ renowned Bombora, Evasion, and Evasion Lite models into one exceptional frameset. If you’re seeking a bicycle that excels on challenging climbs and exhilarating descents, look no further than the Derecho.

Built for Performance with Reynolds 853 Tubing

At the heart of the Crust Bikes Derecho lies a Reynolds 853 tubeset, celebrated for its strength, lightweight properties, and exceptional ride quality. The inclusion of an oversized downtube further enhances the frame’s stiffness and power transfer, making it a responsive climber when you’re pushing hard out of the saddle. This premium tubing ensures that the Derecho is not only durable but also provides a lively and engaging ride feel across varied terrains.

Unparalleled Versatility for Any Adventure

The Derecho frameset is engineered for adaptability. Designed to accommodate a wide range of tire sizes, it comfortably fits up to 29×2.6″ tires for tackling rough trails, but is equally adept with 27.5×2.6″ or even experimental 26″ setups, allowing you to customize your ride for specific conditions. Its adaptable rocker dropouts also make it compatible with Rohloff internally geared hubs and single-speed drivetrains, further expanding its versatility for different riding styles and preferences.

Whether you prefer a 1x or 2x drivetrain, the Derecho is designed to work with a ROAD crank, ideally optimized for a 1x setup with up to a ~40 tooth chainring. While 2x configurations are possible, riders are encouraged to explore and ensure compatibility. Braking is handled by flat mount calipers both front and rear, with recommended rear caliper bolt length around 17mm. The frame is designed for modern standards, supporting up to a 203mm rotor in the front and 180mm in the rear, providing ample stopping power for demanding trails. Front and rear thru axles are included, ensuring stiffness and precise handling.
