Just took the plunge and got myself a fantastic Dog Trailer For Bikes! As an avid ebike rider and proud owner of Bruno, my energetic Shepadore (that’s a German Shepherd and Labrador mix for the uninitiated!), this purchase is a game-changer. Living near some incredible mountain trails and the BLM Wildlife area with its inviting lake, I’ve been dreaming of bringing Bruno along on my rides. Car rides are a quick 20 minutes, but with my ebike boasting dual 48volt 30ah batteries, a leisurely 30-40 minute ride at 20-25mph sounds perfect for both of us to reach our swimming spot.
But the brilliance of this dog trailer extends beyond just weekend adventures! Imagine this: grocery runs to WallyWorld, effortlessly done with my bike and Bruno in tow, safely secured in the trailer. Talk about turning errands into enjoyable outings! The trailer arrived quicker than expected, and I’m already picturing our first trip to the lake next weekend. And get this – it even comes with brakes! Safety first, always. Once I’ve got it fully assembled, hitched up to my ebike, and with Bruno ready to roll, I’ll definitely share some pictures of our setup.
Speaking of the trailer, I opted for the VEVOR Dog Bike Trailer, the 100lbs max capacity version. Bruno is a solid 75lbs of furry energy, so it’s the perfect size for him.
VEVOR Dog Bike Trailer, Supports up to 100 lbs, Pet Cart Bicycle Carrier, Easy Folding Frame with Quick Release Wheels, Universal Bicycle Coupler, Reflectors, Flag, Collapsible to Store, Blue/Black | VEVOR US
VEVOR highlights this dog bike trailer as universally compatible, supporting pets up to 100 lbs. They also emphasize its weather-resistant features (sunproof and waterproof), its collapsibility for easy storage, and straightforward assembly, all designed with pet comfort in mind.
Assembly was indeed a breeze. Straight out of the box, it took me about 20 minutes to put the dog carrier together. The universal bike coupler connected flawlessly to my rear axle bolt – no modifications needed! Naturally, the moment it was ready, it was time for Bruno’s inaugural ride. Getting him into the trailer was surprisingly easy, though convincing him it was a safe space took a little longer. He was a tad wobbly for the first 15 minutes or so, a bit unsure about the motion, but he quickly started to settle in and relax. A few more rides, and I’m confident he’ll be completely comfortable with his new ride. Initial impressions? This dog trailer for bikes is absolutely fantastic!
